Dominic joined PPL as an analyst with a background in public health. Dominic has a particular interest in patient engagement and its potential to enhance decision-making at the senior level within the NHS.

Since joining PPL, Dominic has been working with an ICB to develop a strategy for their Virtual Ward programme.  He has provided project management support for the successful integration of new software into the programme, enhancing the “Hospital at Home” offering for hospitals in the area, relieving pressure on hospital wards.  He has also played a key role in re-designing the governance structure to allow for more streamlined communication and decision-making among Virtual Ward stakeholders.

Prior to PPL, Dominic specialised in Microbiology & Infectious Disease, with a specific focus on public health.  During his placement year, he worked in both R&D and pharmaceutical production for Bath ASU, a company specialising in the manufacturing of chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody products for patients across the UK.

Dominic also spent time at Consilium Scientific, a non-profit research organisation where he was involved in research and detailed analysis of clinical trial datasets and healthcare policies, with a primary focus on patient engagement. This included comprehensive analyses of global clinical trial data and NICE appraisals for treatments related to multiple myeloma and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, with a primary focus on quality of life outcomes. The outputs of this research were key in supporting Myeloma Patients Europe’s advocacy efforts to improve healthcare policies pertaining to these diseases.

Dominic holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter.
